In Spring 2008, Scottie L. Watts came up with an idea to gather inventory from manufacturers and retailers in the area and offer them to the public in a no frills discount superstore. Watts took this idea to a business associate who had been in the furniture industry and partnered to open the first Overstock Outlet in a 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Southeast Memphis. We were at this location for nearly two years, during which the economy sank to a historic low. Overstock Outlet, LLC. then moved to a new location at the I40/I240 corridor on Summer Avenue in the Perimeter Mall, where Watts and his partner soon dissolved the business relationship and Watts went on to transform the company into Watts' Overstock Outlet Inc. Since that date in 2010, we have transformed the way we do business by marketing our self nationwide in an attempt to gather a large group of clients so as to have a consistent flow of merchandise. We now have three external warehouses for storage of merchandise and a retail store that turns merchandise weekly. Overstock Outlet has also moved to the web to open its pool of buyers to the world from the Memphis Metro area. We have a large eBay storefront that has thousands of items listed at any given time. Overstock Outlet also wholesales to many other retailers in the region to make available goods that otherwise they could not obtain. We are growing by leaps and bounds, but maintain a small family type employee base that communicates and works together in a laid back environment.
